In the heart of the Tyrolean Oberland, surrounded by mountains, alpine passes and some of the most beautiful roads in the Alps, a new cycling team was born in 2026. Founded by Lukas Huter, Velox Cycling started with a clear vision: to create a community where a shared passion for cycling comes first.
Velox isn’t a team where results and podiums are all that matter. It’s about bringing together people with different levels of experience and ambitions. New riders can learn from more experienced cyclists and find their own path in the sport. At the same time, ambitious athletes can inspire others with their motivation and passion – encouraging them to push their own boundaries and take on new challenges.
Or, as the team’s motto puts it: Ride Together. Grow Together.
The idea of building a team had been on Lukas’ mind for much longer. Since he first got into cycling around 2017, he had always imagined creating something of his own in the Tyrolean Oberland. A new community with room for young people and fresh ideas, bringing new energy to the local cycling scene.
The result is a team where nobody needs to chase the same goals to ride together. Some want to race, others simply want to improve or explore new roads as a group. What connects them are the kilometres they share, the projects they take on and the experiences they create along the way.
For Lukas, that is what team spirit is all about: riding together and growing together.
Velox has plenty planned for the year ahead. Alongside regional races, the team wants to encourage riders to experience racing for the first time. There are also several shared projects on the calendar – from a spring training camp to a special one-day ride from Tyrol all the way to Lake Garda. Non-stop.
Another highlight will be the Ötztaler Radmarathon. But for a team that is only just beginning its story, it’s not only the big events that count. Every community ride, every new road and every challenge they take on together is already becoming part of that story.
THE ALPS AS INSPIRATION
When you call the heart of the Tyrolean Alps home, it’s almost impossible not to carry that landscape with you – and for Velox, it even found its way onto the jersey.
When developing the team kit, Lukas had one thing in mind above all: it shouldn’t just be functional and comfortable. It should have its own identity. A design that stands out while telling a story.
The inspiration came directly from the landscape surrounding the team. Glaciers and turquoise alpine lakes shape the scenery of Tyrol and became the foundation for the colour palette of the Velox kit.
But there is more behind the design than a connection to the team’s alpine home. The glaciers of the Alps are retreating year after year, changing a landscape that represents a sense of home for so many people in the region. The Velox team kit is therefore also a tribute to this unique environment – and to the hope that it can be preserved for generations to come.
For Lukas, choosing CUORE was an easy decision. He already knew the brand from a previous team and knew exactly what he was looking for in a kit: comfort, quality and a design that truly reflects the team.
